What is sake?
Sake is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented rice. Originating in Japan, it has been brewed and consumed for over 2,000 years, and acquired a rich and fascinating history of its own during that time. What began as a sacred libation, offered to the gods after the harvest, eventually grew to become the common drink of the masses, to enjoy after a hard day’s work.
Since the very inception of sake, it has been subject to a tireless process of evolution and innovation, transforming into the sake we know and love today. It is a drink with a little history in every sip, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share that tradition with you.
